TIRADE WINNER

"Coastal Paradise" by Chelsea Golembeski currently sells for $100 with 48 bids. It closes this monday, march 13. It could be quite a good painting, but see how the shadow carries on from the land onto the top of the water? You see that? You see it? Look closer! Yes, you see it now, we can tell. Is that right? Is it wrong? Is it art?

"This picture was inspired by a beach scene i spent some time at recently."

Chealsea clearly lives and breathes art in a delusional fashion, for instead of being at the place and painting the picture, She believes she was at a scene.

At IS IT ART, when we think of paradise, coastal or not, it usually involves a drink. This looks more to us like "Coastal Purgatory". Is this eerieness intentional? Never before has such a debate arisen around the office. This one truly is disturbing.

It is, actually. Did you read the review of TJ Macnamara? It seems to enjoy that too.
