'The Fire In Her Eyes' by Taanz
This one is my Trade-Me winner of all time. As a woman, I really do know the way it feels to have fire in your eyes, it bloody hurts, and I think Taanz has really captured the emotion of the moment. It has taken over a year of constant effort for poor Taanz to get the feeling of this piece just right, so the least anyone could do would be to bid even just one measley dollar on it, right? I cant do enough justice to this, so here is a description of 'Fire In Her Eyes' by the artist him/herself:
Quality Acrylic Gouache paint has been used to create this stunning piece. It's small but it commands your attention!
I've been working on this piece for over a year now, it's been sitting unfinished on the wall for so long I was wondering if I was ever going to complete it, but I finally have and I am so pleased with the results :)
12 x 4" canvas (~30.5 x 10cm), 1.5" thick (~4cm)
Sides painted black, comes ready to hang.
Signed, titled and dated on back.
Finished with matt varnish spray for protection.
This piece looks much better in the flesh!!! The pictures have turned out slightly lighter than the actual painting.

Who are the NZ art guild? And why do they only have the shittiest artists on their payroll? And how does a painting look better in the flesh? My flesh? The artists flesh? Perhaps the high quality gouache has a flesh base? Is the fire a reflection of the cone she's lighting? She looks pretty red in the corners, Pretty damn sunken around the eyes. Perhaps she is a P-head, which would explain her low, almost neanderthal brow. I hope Taanz gave her as much love as he/she gave to this marvelous creation.
Obviously that's for you to decide, Smarkarts. Possibly everything on IS IT ART 'is' art. Do you think 'the fire in her eyes' is art? It must be mustn't it? It was done by an artist, after all.
Oh and by the way, nice counter blog. We can't wait to see if you can pull any gems out of your arse. Here's an idea, get your own idea. Or is that your idea of art?
We here at 'Is It Art', are not trying to say that anything IS 'art' or ISN'T 'art'.
Hence the QUESTION which forms the basis for the whole blog: ('Is It Art'?) We aren't here to tell you, we are asking, so make up your own damn mind.
We provide some subjective criticisms of our own devising to get you started, but you are free to agree or disagree with us, whichever takes your fancy.
Damn straight. Got nothing better to do than diatribe my day away.
