GIRLS ALOUD play THE SEVENTH CIRCLE OF HELL at STUDIO

By the time they played, we were famished bored and scared. Waiting for an hour and a half in the dark sorrounded by hundreds of fourteen year olds and queers on a monday night is not the preferred hangover cure. We slumped against the wall. We yawned. We were blinded by the TV camera spotlight that illicited screams everytime it passed over the crowd. Most of the time the screams sounded like you were trying to sleep thru a windstorm in a really old house on a hilltop. Eventually they showed their faces and began their rotten 25 minute set. They can't dance. The sound guy fell asleep (at one point one of the girls was so off-key and 'high' in the mix that she sounded like a man). And most of them had such bad cross-eyes that it made us wonder how they managed to find the stage at all. They had to introduce themselves because they thought that nobody knew them by name. "Who cares!!" came a shout from the sound guy. Obviously they'd stiffed him somehow.

SIMON DENNY at MICHAEL LETT

The scottie from Coco Solid said this show smelled like cat's piss, but to
tell you the truth we were too busy avoiding certain people to notice. We were disappointed that Denny didn't see it fit to cater to the gluten-free portion of the arts community, as only keg beer was made available, which
disagrees with our stomach.

COEXISTANCE Downtown AK

Shouldn't this one read Coeggsistance?
You know you're in AK when...
Oh come on, is this about hope or what? We almost freaked when we saw this one in the paper. The reason for coming down. The rest is like kids stuff in comparison.
The world as we Know it is doomed if we can't work together.

Oh wait, We can!

This is not ART but if it was printed on canvas it might be.

We have hundreds of similar shots.

Auckland city art gallery

there was some interesting art at this show but no booze. Security was high so we were a little nervous about taking photos. The camera kept slipping out of our hands we were sweating so much. But this seruptitious shot might have been taken when we dropped it.

Sean Kerr at MICHAEL LETT

finger farts were all the rage about the same time as crappy addictive video games were.

old man gets funky computer styles at IVAN ANTHONY

Yep. another show with no wine, no people.

aRTSCHOOL PUNK GIRLS DRAW DOGS AND BUNNIES

as you can tell, there was no beer or wine or people at the SPIRAL gallery above McD's on Q.

upstairs @ STARKWHITE

You kids will have to make up your own minds about these, from the top: It's good how this one says DIE but it's hard to tell if it was the artists intention or not. Personally I like to credit the person that took this photo and got the correct angle.

We couldn't figure out if this one was art or something waiting to be removed.
This powerswitch didn't work.

Some Losers at CANARY GALLERY

DUNBAR points at the floor. The painting was painted directly on the wall itself, but in the opinion of the IS IT ART editors it looks better as it is hung here.

"just because it is in an art gallery doesn't stop it from just being interior decoration!"

OATS gangshow @ special gallery

Below is POWER DAD by SUGAR JOHN. The best thing about this show was free pies and beer. That's DANKO below, next to the pie cart.
